Åsa Sonjasdotter (S/DK): En stol – en stemme (One Chair – one voice)

16th of June – 27th of June. Weekday’s 9.00a.m.- 3.00p.m. in the Aarhus City Hall.
Evenning of Debate at Vesterbro Beboerhus, Hjortensgade 23,  Thursday the 26th of June at 7.30 p.m.

Åsa Sonjasdotter has interviewed 11 citizen’s of Aarhus about their experiences with their private. political engagement. Why do they involve actively on their working place, in local community centers (in danish; beboerhuse), at demonstrations or party politics. What impels their humane and social engagement and do they define their engagement as being political at all? Their different statements can be heard in the soundinstallation at Aarhus City Council’s strangers galleri and also be seen in informative plates at the foyer of Aarhus City Hall.
The project follows Åsa Sonjasdotter’s general investigations of powerpositions and communities, but in One chair – one voice she directs the fokus towards the influence of fellow citizens on the local environment. The project is an open discussion of how future political space can be defined, but first of all the project is defined as a broad perspective on the allready established political environment, seen through the investigation of how alltogether to be defined as a political engaged human being.
Everybody are encouraged to meet the artist and participate in the discussion on the political environment in Vesterbro Beboerhus the 26th of June at 7.30 p.m.
